Transfer 7 Week 3: May 26, 2013

皆様おはいよございます!
今日はちょっと寒いけどいい天気ですね!:P
Well, another week is over.  I'm starting to finally get the hang of how everything is going to work out here in Fujisawa. :-)  Going to a new area is pretty hard in general just because you don't know any of the members or investigators or anything.  Then just throw in white washing and starting out with 0 investigators... It's been a learning week, that's for sure.
I don't really have a ton of fun experiences to tell you all in the email this week because we spent all day every day out finding, but weren't able to find anyone.  I'm not letting myself get discouraged though, because this week the miracles are coming. :-)  My companion and I have spent all week this week out doing something we call "Posting".  Basically we make a HUGE stack of flyers and go door to door putting them in peoples mailboxes.  In Japan, most people live in very large apartment buildings so all of their mailboxes are right next to each other.  Here's the plan.  We've been posting all of the houses closest to the church and basically making a huge circle from there. In the last week we posted 1,194 flyers. Now, starting this week, we're going to go back to all of those houses and house them! (Ring their doorbell, tell them who we are, see if they have an interest..)  So this week is for sure when we'll begin to find new investigators.  There are people out there prepared to hear what we have to say so this week we're going to find them. :-D
As for fun experiences of the week... Ummm... Well... Let's just go day by day.
Monday:
We had a lesson with these two adorable little girls who the Elders have been teaching named Juna and Sara.  They're 13 and 11 and SO cute.  It felt like teaching primary all over again.  Apparently the Elders have had a really hard time teaching them because Juna and Sara just don't like them. :P  They keep saying that we did so good and they were just baffled. Family: Honestly, I think they're just saying that to make my companion feel better... I'm not sure, but yeah.  So it was fun. :-)  We're meeting them again tonight to teach them about the Restoration and I'm really looking forward to it.
Tuesday:
We went housing in an area near a couple of members houses and met this woman from the Phillipines named Angie.  She's Catholic, but says she doesn't really like it much.  We told her who we were and she seemed pretty interested.  (My companion and I kind of weren't getting along that morning, so unfortunately we weren't really prepared for her.  I'm sure if we'd had the spirit more we could've helped her more, but... Well, there you go. Repentance. :P)  We gave her a pamphlet and we invited her to come to church.  We're planning on going back to visit her tomorrow. :-)
Wednesday:
Posting, all day long.  Gave out roughly 450 flyers.
Thursday:
Weekly Planning and Eikaiwa. We had 2 new girls come to Eikaiwa this week who received fliers at their house!  Score!  :-)  One of them has become a Potential Investigator!  We're going to invite her to lessons this week!
Friday:
District Meeting and Sports Night.  District Meeting was awesome and the girl from Eikaiwa came to Sports night.  We gave out 326 fliers.
Saturday:
Went to see a baptism in a different area in English!  Then we came back and went posting all day again for a grand total of 1,194 fliers posted!
Sunday:
Spoke in church because I'm in a new area ! People laughed at my joke!  YES!  :-D THen we met with the Bishop and the Ward Mission Leader to disucss the Ward Mission Plan. Way fun day.
And that was my week!  I love you guys so much!  Remember God loves you all too more than you can imagine!  Have a great week everyone!
Love,
Christine
